The view from the top of the dam, of the start of the river and the scenery. Photo by Oliver Heim

The water blasting out of the dam was impresive, and made for an exciting start to the top of the 1st rapid.

Me taking pictures. I love the sign.

Oliver running a small ledge rapid.

Mike F. running a rapid on far river right. Pretty easy line, but you didn't want to mess up, since the other lines looked ugly!

Me running the same rapid. I went pretty deep at the bottom. Photo by Oliver Heim

Some scary log jams like this were seen at multiple points on the run. Trees were by far the biggest hazard, and were a commen sight, although we only did two all-out portages and one “scoot”.

More trees.

A considerable stretch of the river consisted of fun, very continous 70 fpm class III paddling.

Albert and Hilde enjoying the scenery and fun paddling.

Fires and logging have altered this area, but it was still really pretty. Somewhere around here, we saw a huge eagle.

This rapid was tough to boat scout.

We stopped for lunch here, I ran the rapid, but apparently there wasn't as much room under the tree as I thought, I had to roll under it. Photo by ALbert Romvari
